Giant Dog

Giant Dog
This giant dog sits in front of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. I had to photography him from behind because there were workers on giant scaffold trimming him up since he's made of real live plants that are constantly growing, just like a real dog. A few months ago I was flipping channels on TV and came across the opening scene of a James Bond movie were this dog was used. I'm not sure what kind of Dog this is. Maybe a West Highland Terrier?

Porto

Boats on the Rio Douro, Porto, Portugal
Porto, is definitely a fun city in Portugal, to visit. There's lots of interesting things to see and do. These are replica boat that use to bring the big barrels of wine to Porto, from the vineyards up north. Most of wine is made into Port hence the name of the city. Although most of the Bodegas were they make the Port are on the other side of the river in Gaia.

Restaurants

In Brazil there's no need to make a reservation at a local restaurant that's because for the most part Brazilians eat fairly late. As you can see in the photos above there is no one there. I always get to sit were I like with 10 waiters waiting on me. By the way, the food I've eaten here is always delicious!!

Women in Deep Thought

Woman-Guatemala City
I love snapping quick candid portraits of people. The human face is so expressive and interesting to watch. To me, this woman is not sad, I just believe she's in deep thought about what she needs to do next. She is probably from the country side and came into the big city to either sell or buy some goods

Graduation Group Shot

Group shots are one of the hardest shoots to do as a photographer. This team was doing a pretty good job getting all the participates line up in several different rows starting from top to bottom. The student at this time were facing into the sun (about 85 degrees) and there wearing black. Just as everything is ready to go a woman in one of the top rows felt a little faint and almost collapses and had to be carried off. I believe after a few minute everything turn out well and they were able to finish the days shoot.

Bilbao, Spain

Last year I was in Bilbao,Spain, a quaint little town in the Northern region of the country. Bilbao, is known for great seafood as this Restaurant here proved. I wasn't disapointed with any of my meals on this trip. That's one of the things I love about traveling, THE FOOD!! And yeah, the people too.

Bird

Well I don't know what kind of bird this is but he and his partner I assume their a mating pair comes after me every morning when I'm walking my dog. Today I came by and I had my camera with me. As I came closer they wouldn't fly off so I thought great, I should get a great shoot since I didn't have a super telephoto lens on me. Well as turn out the reason they wouldn't fly off is because they have a little baby bird they are protecting. I tried to get a photo of the the mother bird with the baby but it seem like the baby just blended in so well with the brush that I couldn't find it. Oh well, perhaps another day

Guggeheim Museum

Art work outside the Guggeheim Museum
I found this colorful art display at the Guggeheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, to be a quite interesting piece of work. What I found most interesting at the Guggeheim was not the art work per say, but the building itself.

Proud Family

As a photographer, lots of times when going back over my images especially of people I often wonder where are they now. Take this proud young mother with her beautiful baby and grandmother for example, I my never see them again but there memory will forever be with me and I pray that her child will grow to be all God wants her to be.

Nursing Students

I came across these lovely young nursing students yesterday. I'm not sure if they were graduating or if this was some kind of initiation into nursing school. Well, they were kind enough to let me photograph them and I hope the paint, dirt and raw egg yoke will come off.

Parque Olhos D' Agua

Rare Blog Appearance
Entrance to Parque Olhos D' Agua
Somewhere deep in the Amazon rainforest lies the Parque Olhos D' Agua. A very strenuous hike to get there requiring much physical effort on my part getting there. Well, not really, it's just down the street from where I live. And yes, there is water in the park.

Fruit Stand

Fruit Stand
Coco Gelado
Fresh fruits and vegetables are in abundance here in Brazil, and there delicious. I especially love the "Coco Gelado" there is nothing as refreshing as an iced cold coconut. The prices of these coconuts can vary from region to region for instant in Rio there about $2.50 with a view of the beach. In Salvador Bahia, I saw them as cheap as $0.30 cents and here in Brasilia they go for $1.25 to $1.85 depending on the location. I guess location is everything when selling Coco Gelado.

Asian Food Fair

Asian Food Fair
Sorry no more
The last of it
I went to the Asian Food Fair the other day at a disclosed location very hard to find. Well, when I finally got there wasn't much food left. However, this gave me a chance to try out another fine restaurant in Brasilia. And there are many of them.

Ground Zero

Ground Zero

Statue of Liberty
Like many Americans, I watched a lot of the coverage of the ten year anniversary of    9-11 and all though there are many theories out there as to what really happen I'm always reminded that even though we might not know the truth God knows, and God, is still in control.

9-11 Ten Years Later

Freedom Tower Lower Manhattan 2008

NYC Let Freedom Ring
It's been ten year since 9-11 and sometimes I think, it's not have far we've come since then but how far radical Muslims have made inroads into are country and way of life.
Thank God, for all the godly men and women in this nation who stand up for the truth of God's word and don't cave into Political Correctness and the likes, that weaken the fabric of our great nation.
Almost 600 year before Islam, Jesus warned about about false prophets (Matthew 7:15) Muhammad is one of those false prophet who would deceive billions. Sorry suicide bombers no virgins were you are now.
May God bless America, and give us wisdom and boldness to carry out the truth from his Word and that many people around the world would be set free and delivered from the bondage of Islam. Amen!!

The Day Before

Statue of Liberty
Lower Manhattan
I sure the day before 9-11- was just like any other day for most people. Nobody had a clue what was to take place the next day and how it would effect our lives for the next 10 years or really forever. People ask will the war on terror ever end? Yes! When Jesus comes back.

Puppy Love

<>
Walking Dog's
People in Brazil love their dogs they take them everywhere to the beach and on long walks down busy streets. For as much as Brazilian, love dogs it can be a long and tedious process to get them in the country. More paperwork of unknown origin, meaning no one knows whats going on and a process that should take about 20 minute can take up to five and six hours. And one really know why. They just keep saying one form to fill out and you'll be done in ten minutes, as the hours click bye.

Plantation

Salvador Bahia
This looks like an old Plantation but it's not. Actually, I don't believe the building is that old it just looks that way in the setting it's in.

Typical Dress

Deuza
This young lady pictured here is wearing the Traditional Bahian dress. The typical Bahian dress is white, lacy top with huge, bouncy skirt.
Many women dressed in these white Bahian dresses can be seen all over the city of Salvador, especially on the streets selling all kinds of goods.

Biblioteca Publica

Listening to Music @ the library
This young boy about twelve, was hanging out listening to music at the ("Biblioteca Publica") Public Library in Salvador Bahia. It is said to be the First Library in all of Latin America. I thought it was interesting that young Brazilian boy was listening to 70's Rock Music.
