The only damage that was done was the destruction of a metal barrier erected for the parade earlier that day to help protect the President. The team of worker who where responsible for putting up and taking down the wall reported no real damage was done to the metal wall and it made their job a lot easier taking the wall away for next year....To Be Continued.

The Crowd Showing Support For their Military. Or Maybe Just Testing their Camera Phones
Well, I arrived a little late for the start of the 7 de Setembro Parade (Independence Day Parade) in the Capital City of Brasilia. This year it was a little harder to get a good position for photos due to the fact the local government had erected a barrier around the parade especially in the area where the president was to add an extra layer of security for her The pararde itself went off without a hitch. However after the parade was quite a different story more on this in my next post.

Happy Faces

The lovely Ana Souza

Jose Brown  playing the giant pandeiro drum
Everybody was happy yesterday in Brasilia, as the country celebrated it Independence Day with a grand parade. Since it fell on a Friday, that meant a three day weekend, and in Brasilia, a three day week means, lets go to Rio!!  At lest for people with cushy government jobs and that mean more work for waiters in Rio, especially on Copacabana beach.
