Blue & Red

I love to photograph bright colors the brigher the better. When I came across this blue wall on this store front in Pelourinho, I thought I'll shoot this it's nice and bright but it could use some contrast another color. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw this person in red coming down the street and well, there you have  it, blue and red. I love it when a plan comes together. If I had time I would have cloned the guy out in the back

Being an Artist anywhere in the world can be a tuff job. Take Matheus João, here for instant, from Salavdor, Brazil, he along with his wife Isabella, work hard all week painting and making small crafts to sell on the weekends in the Pelourinho District of Salvador.

Françoise May

Outdoor Dinning

This wonderful singer and guitarist Françoise May, plays and sings about five nights a week at this Restaurant in Pelourinho, Salvador, although I can't remember the name at this time. What I enjoyed best about Françoise,  was her incredible repertoire and different styles of music that she plays. She is from France, and sings in about three different languages, maybe Four. You won't be bored listing to her while you enjoy a good meal.

Pelourinho, in Salvador Bahia, Brazil is fascinating place to spend the afternoon walking around admiring the old colonial style architecture and just watching the people go by.

Old Buildings-Pelourinho

The Pelourinho, section of Salvador, is the historic center of the city. It was restored back around 1993 and Michael Jackson shot a video here in 1996. I was amazed at how fast some of the building have deteriorated in less than twenty years. The good news is with the World Cup coming in 2014 there starting to rebuild it again. It'll be interesting to see it all colorful and vibrant again.

As night descends on the city and the lights began to come on it changes the whole vibe of  Pelourinho. It becomes more festive as local food vendors set up little table and chairs in the plaza so customer can enjoy the view of the old building all lit up.

All big cities seem to have a certain rhythm to them as you walk the streets or drive around. Shop owners waiting for customers tourist wandering around looking for cool or unusual thing to buy and so on. Photos taken in the Pelourinho section of Salvador Bahia, Brazil.

There is no storage of colorful art on the streets of Pelorinho in Salvador, Brazil. Many of these artist I found out from taking to them are also musicians who do a little painting and drawing on the side. 

The Old City
