Pele

Practicing for the World Cup

Pele
Edson, aka Pele, is busy brushing up on his soccer skills for the up coming World Cup. Though now retired he's hoping to make a few bucks dazzling the anticipated crowds that will descend upon Rio, with the skills that once made him a super star in the sport.

Group of Friends

Monnique seated, Anderson, Crislayne, & Hed Maria
I meet this group of kids or shall I say young people at the Manguinhos Public Libray in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which is situated in a Favela. This has to be the nicest group of kids I've ever met anywhere in my travels thus far. Never have I come across a group of young people with so much energy and excitement for life just look at their beautiful genuine smiles I think that says it all. I pray they will be all God wants them to be.

Christ the Redeemer

Christ the Redeemer Statue covered in clouds
Christ the Redeemer
Christ the Redeemer
Well, I finally found the real Christ the Redeemer Statue. It was hidden under the clouds way atop Corcovado Mountain.  The symbol of Christianity for all the world to see, the statue has become an icon for Rio de Janeiro and Brazil. It is also the largest Art Deco statue in the world and the 5ht largest statue of Jesus.

City Tour

Christ the Redeemer
Well on my self guided tour of Rio, on a rainy morning I finally found the Christ the Redeemer Statue that over looks the magnificent city of Rio de Janeiro. I thought it would be bigger and I didn't know it was made of sand. Funny how everything looks different on TV.

At the Cross

Praça do Papa, Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Praça do Papa, Belo Horizonte, Brazil
The Cross. What do you think about when you see a cross? For me, Jesus, and that my sins are forgiven. A new day, and a future. The Creator of the universe to whom someday every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ, is Lord.

Serra do Curral Mountains

Serra do Curral Mountain in Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Houses going up the mountains
The Serra do Curral Mountains that run along the southeast side of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. There is a huge park called Parque da Mangabeiras on top of the mountains and perhaps next time, time permitting I can make trip up there to check it out.
