As the Sunsets in Ilha Marajo

Early Evening on a Lonely Trial as the Sun Begins to Set

I guess you could call it an Amazonian Sunset

What a great way to finish a leisurely walk through the Amazon Region of Brazil, than to watch the sunset slowly in this peaceful part of the world. I personally enjoy being out in nature and Brazil, has a lot to offer when it come to nature or as I like to call the "The Handy Work of God." I've only scratched the surface and hope to Lord willing document some more of it.

Marajo Island

Horses and Buffalo's Grazing on a Ranch Outside the Town of Soure, Brazil in Ilha Mararjo

World Famous Samaúma Tree

Water Buffalo Taking a Quick Dip
Marajo Island or Ilha Marajo, an Island in the Northern Region of the Amazon in the State of Para, Brazil, is a delightful little place to take a few days off and relax and enjoy the slow pace of life that this place has to offer along with the wild life.

Meu Pequeno Papagaio-My Little Parrot

Yes, I know I'm Pretty
This is actually a Selfie I took of me and my new little friend
Your's truly with my new little friend Renaldo, the Parrot. He looks like a cross between a blue fronted and yellow front Amazon Parrot and he's very friendly. So friendly that he would not let me put him down so I brought him home with me where he is now very happy. Well, I guess I need to go buy some Brazil nuts to feed him. He also like Mangoes. Good thing cuz that's all there is to eat here right now.
I just Love Mangoes

The Savannas of Goiás

Sunset in the Cerrado
Typical Cerrado Tree against a Beautiful Sunset
The Sunsets Slow in The Cerrado, Goias, Brazil.
As the Sunsets on the Savannas in the State of Goiás, in Brazil, the heart of the Savannas or as they called it here "Cerrado." Here in the "Cerrado" the weather is always pleasant years round with a wet season ans a dry season. In a recent poll I took there was a 50/50 split on which people preferred the wet season or the dry season I for one was undecided. There are things about both season I like and dislike. The cerrado is not as recognized around the world as the Amazon, and I myself didn't know it existed until moving here almost two years ago. Well, gotta go now, it getting dark and the wildlife is starting to come out.

Amazon People

Mural of an Indigenous Man
Well, I haven't met this man yet, but I hope to someday. This is a mural of a Native that lives in the Amazon, region of Brazil. There are an estimated number of about 200 tribes left with a population of about 300,000 people. Many of these Indigenous people have also migrated into urban populations over the last thirty to forty years. I have a friend here in Brasilia, who is from Belem, in the northeast region of the Amazon and her father is a native and her mother is Portuguese. She told me when she was young her father use to wear a feather in his nose like the man pictured here and that he was short like she is about five foot two.
