These doughnut like looking baked goods are called Chipa's  they are native to Paraguay. They are very tasty and can be found all over the place from local bakeries to vendors on the street. So, the next time your in Paraguay, pick up a dozen or two with a cup of coffee you won't be disappointed.

This Dam on the border of Brazil, and Paraguay, just outside of Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, is quite a sight to see up close. It's the largest Dam in the world as far as generating Power second largest in size.

Paraguay, just celebrated there Bicentennial back in May of this year. I remember back in 1976 when we celebrated ours in the USA. I wonder how many more countries are left to celebrate theirs. The good new in Asuncion, was they restored a lot of old building for the occasion.

Sometimes I pass people and wonder what there lives are like especially in other countries. The lady in the photo on top looks very much deep in thought perhaps waiting on someone. While the lady on the bottom almost seem to have a smile on face as she tries to sell bread on the side of the road. Photos taken in and around Asuncion, Paraguay.

These amazing ruins are located just outside of Encarnacion, Paraguay, they were built around 1609 and are the least visited of all UN World Heritage Sites. The day I was there I was practically the only the person there. With limited time I had to work fast to get these images. Maybe next  time I can manage a visit at sunset and then see the light show they have at night.

Traveling through Paraguay, was a real treat. The country side in some parts reminds me of the Midwest in the US. Like with any country you have the poor and people who are well off. When I took the photo of  the shack I was reminded that if this was in the US, it probably would have been a Mobile Home with Three Pick Up Trucks parked outside.

This woman was enjoying her carton of milk on a lazy afternoon in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, while waiting for the bus pick her up. At least thats what it says on the carton she's holding.

This is not a common site in Paraguay seeing a person carrying something on there head. This was actually the second person I saw, the first was young man the day before. I'm not sure what there carrying but my guess is bread. Asuncion, Paraguay.

In Paraguay, motorcycles have become very popular and are an inexpensive form of transportation. It's not unusual to see as many as three people on one bike. I'm still waiting to see if I can find four.

I guess this is the John F Kennedy section of town just outside of Encarnacion, Paraguay. I didn't know he was so popular in Paraguay. Well, better him than Teddy since there is big bridge in Encarnacion.

Not only is this chicken fresh off the farm but its also organic. I had some later at a local restaurant in Encarnacion, Paraguay. When its fresh and organic its good!! Sorry Kentucky Fried, your just not cutting it anymore.
